The Turn of the Year

Queen of winter
charm in hand
Walk through your season
and bless this land
Though leaves have gone
we shed no tear
For it is the turning of the year
And all that was
shall be again
When springtime turns around that bend

Four Angels

Four angels asked
the wayward sun
Why he had packed
his bags and gone
He laughed and stroked
his fine moustache
And said don't worry
I'll soon be back

Go Forth My Ice Birds

Ice crystals form
and take to wing
When winters ice queens
call and sing
Frost bites our ears
and steals our breath
When white birds settle
No green is left

Evergreen

King Oak pursed
his hardwood lips
And gave Queen Holly
a final kiss
"Farewell, for I
must whither and go
I have no taste
for frost and snow
Bear well your waxen
crown of green
All shall see you
as Evergreen"
She said "old oak
why must you go?
Just one more kiss beneath
the mistletoe"

Peace on Earth

Be glad for the creatures
of land and sea
And the many tribes
of humanity
All of us kindred
of Mother Earth
Must respect her beauty
and her precious worth

The Breath of Springtime

Where is the sun
and the warm breath
of summer
Huddle close and listen
Hear the song of the seasons
Old years embers smoulder silently
Worms are numb
And wild birds ravage
natures store
Listen
For the breath of springtime
Shall sweep through
these sacred vales
And set this land aflame
With gorgeous greens,
glistening golds,
violets, pinks and satin whites.

The Reign of Winter

The seasons sleep
and take their rest
Each with their own coronet
Autumns fruits
and leaves of gold
Have to old father time
been sold
Summers flush is out of sight
Whilst springtime waits
for warm sunlight
She is unloved
and some resent her
Behold!
it is the Reign of Winter

Badger and Friends

Mammals, Birds and Minibeasts
Find somewhere warm from snow and sleet
Get in your holes
Go find your den
Till springtime
calls you out again
